^hammok investigates problems in apps and can suggest code changes for approval. This page describes the current beta implementation, not capabilities we have not built.
You choose which repositories authorize the ^hammok GitHub App. The App currently requests repository Contents read/write and Pull Requests read/write, which exceeds read-only access. GitHub sign-in and repository installation are separate steps. Source files from your selected repository may be retrieved after you submit and approve the proposed file selection. We do not automatically merge or deploy a fix. You can revoke the GitHub App in GitHub settings.
Selected source code, problem descriptions and optional attachments may be accessed by an authorized ^hammok team member for assisted investigation. Selected source excerpts and relevant supplied text may be manually processed using a third-party AI service operated by OpenAI (ChatGPT). If you include an image, it is available to the operator; image interpretation is not automatic. Do not submit passwords, access tokens, confidential code, personal data or sensitive files to this early beta. We use basic safety filters that cannot catch all secrets.
The current beta keeps login sessions, selected source excerpts, descriptions, attachments, prompts and proposals temporarily in server memory, with assisted cases configured to expire within 40 minutes and login sessions within 45 minutes. Server restarts can end a session sooner. We do not provide durable saved cases or automatic notifications. This describes our application's temporary memory; information manually sent to a third-party service is governed by that service's applicable policies and settings, which may involve separate retention and data-use practices. We cannot claim that all copies are erased when an ^hammok session ends.
Review the proposed file paths before authorizing source retrieval and AI-assisted processing. Any GitHub PR requires your explicit approval. Revoke repository access at any time via GitHub. For questions about data or withdrawal of a submitted case, email at741@keemail.me; no self-service deletion workflow is available yet.
